I went on a camping trip to a remote village, Kilchoan in the Scottish highlands sitting on the coast of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, for a couple of days in August last year to see the wildlife and try out my new BlackMagic 6k Cinema Camera.

RED SQUIRRELS - Wildlife Photography at Formby Pinewoods
The pinewoods on the North West coast of the UK, is one of the few remaining strongholds left for the red squirrel in the UK. If you are quiet and prepared to be patient, you'll be rewarded with great sights of the these fantastic little animals, along with other mammals and birds. Given that it is now spring, the woodlands are full of birdsong and lush green foliage, so spending a few hours immersed in nature is just wonderful and I've made this short film showing why I love these places.

This little river runs along the foothills of Snowdon into the stunning Llyn Gwynant, where I spent the weekend camping and watching some of the wildlife that calls these upland streams their home.

EARLY MORNING WETLANDS - Wildlife and Landscape Photography at Lunt Meadows
An early morning to catch a spectacular sunrise at Lunt Meadows - an amazing nature reserve on the outskirts of Liverpool that is filled with wildlife anytime of the year. This nature reserve has only been in existence for a few years, previously it was agricultural farmland, but since 2014 it has been transformed back into a stunning wetlands habitat similar to the environment that existed here before the land was ever farmed.
